Canine Classifieds – Part 1
Does your dog have a job? Like most people, dogs want to be a useful part of society. In other words they want to feel loved, wanted, and needed. They like a regular routine. Regular meal times, regular exercise times and regular play times. They want a regular place to call their own like a wire dog crate
. They want to be a part of what’s going on around them. They even relish having a job.
Dogs are not lazy, unless we train them to be. They love action and having a regular job with a regular routine gives them something to look forward to each day. Have you seen a herding dog smile after the roundup and all the cattle are in the Corral. Have you seen how proud and happy a service dog is, knowing he is helping someone in need. The joy a therapy dog brings to a senior citizen in a nursing home is beyond words.
These are a few examples of jobs a dog can have and feel good about their ability to be productive. In this series of blogs we are going to talk about these and several other types of jobs a dog can have. We also are going to discuss ways of obtaining a quality dog capable of doing a good job.
