Many pet owners do care about their dogs safety when traveling in a car. They take precautions to provide for their safety, whether it be in the front seat, back seat or in the back of a pickup truck. The pet owner is comforted in knowing that their pet is safe and secure.

Many professional dog owners who travel regularly with their dogs to dog shows, field trials, Obedience trials or wherever they may be going, use a station wagon or a van to transport their dogs.

In the back of most station wagons you can place two wire dog crates side by side with the front of the crate facing the back of the station wagon. This allows for the ease of loading and unloading of two dogs. It also provides the dogs with the opportunity to look out the window and check out his surroundings and see where he’s been.

Fido lives on a farm where there are many exciting things to do, like chasing rabbits, chasing the cat around the barn, or even racing the tractor into the field. Fido isn’t all play though because he herds the cattle and helps bring them in at milking time.

The thing that Fido loves to do the most is to jump into the back of the pickup truck for a ride into town. He always rides loose and roams from side to side placing his paws on the side of the pickup to check things out. Suddenly the pickup comes to a screeching halt. Where is Fido now? Probably not in the pickup truck.

Several states including Colorado have outlawed the practice of dogs riding loose in the back of a pickup truck. However this law is ignored by many. For the dog owner who cares about the safety of their pet, a Kennel Carrier is the best way to protect your pet in the back of a pickup truck. They can be fastened down so they won’t slide around, and Fido can still go into town.

Fido is an excitable dog who loves to live dangerously and is more than just a bit on the wild side. He insists on riding loose in the back seat of the car because he wants the freedom to check things out both side windows, and the back window too if something is attractive to him.

Fido’s parents understand his desire for freedom. They even encourage him and help him out by rolling down the side windows so Fido can stick his head out and suck in the wind. If this is you and your dog, I have a question for you. Where will Fido be when you slam on the break?

This Dog needs to Buckle up! A Pet Vehicle Safety Harness is a great solution for dogs who can’t stay still and behave themselves in the Back seat. Actually it is a good solution for any dog as well as the dog owner who cares about the safety of their dog.

Where does your dog ride when you are going to the store or the park or to the country? Does he ride loose in the back seat? Is he a laid back dog who likes to look out the window but is well mannered and doesn’t jump around or get excited when he sees another dog out the window?

If this is your dog be happy, because there are not many like him. You’ve taken the time to train him to behave himself and you should be commended for it. The question of the day is, Where will he be if you have to slam on the break? Will he find himself on the floor in the back? Will he join you in the front seat, not by his own choice?

One way to protect him, is with a Hammock type seat cover. This cove attaches to both the front and back seat and would provide protection for both the dog and the back seat of the car.

FiFi La Frank is a Miniature French Poodle, a very spoiled Miniature French Poodle. When her mommy takes her anywhere in the car FiFi insists on sitting on mommy’s lap so she can see out both the front and side windows. Suddenly mommy has to slam on the break, or even worse rear ends the car in front of her because FiFi blocked her vision. Where is FiFi know? Is she squished between mommy and the steering wheel? What if the air bag goes off? Then what?

We all have seen similar situations many times, where the drive is driving down the road with their small dog in there lap. This simply is not a safe practice, for the dog or the driver, not to mention the cars around them.

If you insist on having your pet next to you while driving, get a Pet Booster Seat. This will allow

You pet to be next to you, and at the same time be as safe as possible under these circumstances.

When my dog had fleas he scratched. When my dog had a Tick he scratched. We got a flea and tick control product, and got rid of the fleas and ticks. Guess what? He still scratched. He scratched because it itched. It itched because he had allergies.

One of the things he was allergic to was the flea and tick control product we had been using. So we changed brands. Dogs can be allergic to many things and we don’t know about them until we have them tested by our vet. Once diagnosed, proper treatment can be administered.

Homeopet has a homeopathic remedy which provides temporary relief from constant scratching, itching, gnawing and hair loss caused by allergies. Helps to detoxify the skin from the inside, leaving the coat thick and shiny.

Finally, Fido has stopped his constant scratching, his coat looks great and he’s a lively dog once again.

It’s Fido’s birthday. He has just turned thirteen. You’d think he’d be out celebrating. After all,  how many dogs get to celebrate their thirteenth birthday? But no he’s just laying there not wanting to get up. You see he hurts a bit. No he hurts a lot!

Just like people, as pets age, they slow down. Just like people, they get that achy feeling, back ache, sore muscles, stiff joints, muscle tension and just about every other type of hurt old folks get. And Just like people they prefer to just hang out. Fido lay there on the front porch watching the grass grow and the rabbits hopping by. They knew he wouldn’t chase them like he used to.

What Fido needs is HomeoPet Joint Stress. This is a homeopathic remedy to provide temporary relief from: Joint stiffness, soreness, muscle tension, overexertion, pain in lower back and joint areas. What Fido needs is to get back on track, so those rabbits will stop mocking him.

I was on the floor playing with Fido the other day, when he stood up, looked at me funny and sneezed all over me. Then he did it again.  This was not a normal occurrence I assure you. If you dog is continually sneezing, wheezing, coughing and generally acting like he’s got a cold, he probably does

It is not difficult to find articles about cures for the more common canine cough such as Kennel Cough, But we seldom read about one of the most common occurrences in dogs and that is the common cold. We don’t usually associate the common cold with dogs, but like people they get colds too.

Homeopet has a Cold Remedy for pets who suffer from difficulty swallowing, asthmatic cough, drynes of mouth. Geriatric cough especially when associated with swollen glands. For spasmodic dry cough, deep cough, hoarseness, voice difficulty. Cough associated with heart disease, harsh non-productive cough, and croupy cough.

Oh Boy! What’s Fido eating now? My dog just ate breakfast. I know I’m feeding him enough, probably too much, cause he’s a bit fat. Judging from the way he subsidizes what I give him with what he can find on his own outside, maybe I should cut back on what I give him.

Getting additional snacks outside is part of a dog’s way of life. This makes it difficult for pet owners to keep their pets weight where it should be and be sure their getting the right amount of Nutrition.

Our Pets love to eat. But they don’t always eat the right thing. We don’t help matters when we feed him table scraps. This encourages him to counter surf for even more people food. So when Fido eats his regular meals, gets table scraps at dinner time, goes counter surfing when your not around and goes scavenger hunting outside, he has a wide variety of things to eat, and probably a stomach ache. Could it also be this is the reason Fido’s fat?

To help make Fido feel better we need to keep on hand a product for digestive upsets. This homeopathic remedy provides relief from minor digestive problems including: vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite, bad breath and repeated gas. It is also for cats that throw up 20 minutes after eating.

Puppy Care for Working Owners

When it comes to puppies, it can be difficult for people who have a full time job to provide the needed care. For puppies under six months old, it will be necessary for the owner to be home for at least some of the day, but for older puppies, a few convenient pet accessories can provide assistance for those times when at work. It’s important to have a dog doors installed for owners who work. The dog door allows the pet to go outside when needed and the owner won’t have to worry about house-trained pets having an accident while not at home. It’s also a good idea to have an automatic pet feeder and waterer to provide food and water throughout the day. While some dogs can be trained to have food in their bowls at all time and regulate their weight through physical activity, a lot of dogs will continue to eat until they’re too full, which can be unhealthy.

When owners do arrive home, it’s important that attention be paid to their dog right away. All dogs are pack animals, and when the leader arrives home, they will want to be near them for the rest of the day. Plan on taking a walk and spending time together often after work!
